Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) is going to start soon in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand will be the first state in the country to provide this facility. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has released a video and statement in this regard on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. He informed that the country’s first Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) will be started from Uttarakhand.
Helicopter will be stationed in AIIMS Rishikesh
Jyotiraditya Scindia said that for this, a helicopter will be deployed at AIIMS Rishikesh, if any accident occurs within a radius of 150 kilometers, then that person will be immediately taken to AIIMS Rishikesh or any other hospital through helicopter.
Heli Medical Service will operate as soon as possible
Union Minister Scindia also informed that this service will be operated by the Civil Aviation Ministry. This helicopter emergency medical service is currently being assembled, the process of certification of which is also going on. Soon this service will be provided to Uttarakhand. He said that now it is his personal concern that this Heli Medical Service should be operated as soon as possible.
Uttarakhand will become the first state
Union Minister Scindia said that after that Uttarakhand will become the first state in the country to provide helicopter emergency medical facility. Let us tell you that two helipads are already ready in AIIMS Rishikesh. Uttarakhand is a state with adverse geographical conditions. Here, transporting accident injured and seriously ill patients from remote mountainous areas to the hospital is no less than a challenge. In such a situation, with the availability of helicopter emergency medical facility, this challenge will become easier to a great extent.
