The weather in most parts of Uttarakhand remains dry, but there are scattered clouds in some places. Light snowfall is also continuing on the peaks.
Light snowfall continued for the third day in Kedarnath and other high altitude areas, pushing temperatures well below freezing point in the peaks and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, fog continues to linger in the plains, disrupting normal life. A yellow alert has been issued for frost in the mountains and dense fog in the plains for the next few days.
On Monday, there was fog and mist in Dehradun and surrounding areas since morning, due to which the sun did not shine on time.
Meanwhile, dense fog is also impacting life in the plains of Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar. Temperatures are also dropping, and severe cold continues from the mountains to the plains.
Due to snowfall on the peaks, the cold has reached its peak in the mountains. The chill has increased, especially in the morning and evening. Furthermore, cold winds are also testing the plains.
According to the Meteorological Center, the weather is expected to remain similar throughout this week. A yellow alert has been issued today for dense fog in the plains. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions, there are chances of partial cloud cover and snowfall on the peaks.
