Solar rooftop panels will be compulsorily installed in all government medical centers, hospitals and medical colleges of the state. Also, these panels will be lit up in all government schools and hostels. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed the Health Secretary and Director General of Education to issue immediate orders in this regard. In sensitive areas with high maternal mortality rate, instructions were given to deploy adequate number of doctors after conducting maternal mortality audit. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, while chairing the meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee in the Secretariat on Tuesday, said that the cost of schemes increases in case the work is not done in a timely manner. In such a situation, all the works approved in the Expenditure Finance Committee should be completed within the stipulated time frame. Approved the proposal to upgrade Community Health Center Purola as Sub District Hospital in Uttarkashi district. Also gave instructions to pay special attention to river protection work under this scheme. In Haridwar district, in-principle and financial approval was given to the construction works of 50-bed critical care block in Sub District Hospital Roorkee and 50-bed Sub District Hospital building and residential building in Khanpur.
Approval for construction of Navodaya Vidyalaya building and hostel in Bageshwar
In the meeting, the construction work of building and hostel of Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bageshwar has also been approved. The Chief Secretary gave in-principle and financial approval to the construction of diagnostic wing and operation theatre on the first and second floor along with construction of parking on the ground floor under the District Hospital of Champawat. He informed that in view of the increasing demand for medical facilities in Champawat district, about six rooms in the main building will be vacated due to the construction of separate parking and administrative wing. These will be used for medical facilities. The hospital can be made more convenient. Patients and attendants will get better car parking facilities. The current parking can be used for parking of departmental vehicles and ambulances. Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar along with secretaries, additional secretaries and departmental officers of all the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
