Rafting base station to be built in Rishikesh at a cost of 100 crores, Central Government releases 3295 crores for 23 states

The Central Government has approved an amount of Rs 3295 crore for the development of 40 tourist places in 23 states of the country under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment. In this, Yoganagari Rishikesh located on the banks of Ganga in Uttarakhand has also benefited. A modern rafting base station will be set up there at a cost of hundred crores. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. Rishikesh is also an important center of rafting activities. People from the country and abroad come for rafting in the Ganga, but the modern infrastructure there is inadequate for this. A well-organized system for booking rafting adventures has not yet been developed at the starting points of rafting Brahmapuri, Shivpuri, Marine Drive, Kaudiyala and ending points Neem Beach, Laxmanjhula, Janaki Jhula.

Infrastructure will be developed for tourism

Chief Minister Dhami said that with the rafting base station project taking shape, infrastructure for rafting tourism in Rishikesh will be developed. He said that rafting activities in Rishikesh will be accelerated from this base station, which will benefit in the form of increased tourism activities in the surrounding area. He said that under the project, dressing rooms and food facilities will be developed at rafting centers. Along with this, alternative routes will be constructed to reduce the crowd in the Tapovan area. About 1500 people are expected to get employment through the project. The project will be completed in two years.

Development work being done at major pilgrimage sites from Chardham Yatra route, Karnaprayag railway line are examples of this. Now the Prime Minister has given another gift to the people of the state by approving a project worth Rs 100 crore for Rishikesh.
