Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal gave relief to the registered traders of the state on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The duration of the accident insurance scheme of Rs 10 lakh for them has been extended for one year. Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal said that the accident insurance scheme is being operated for the registered traders of the state. This scheme is going to end on November 18, 2024. Its duration has been extended to November 18, 2025. He has approved the departmental proposal in this regard. He said that during the scheme period, the traders will be automatically considered covered as per the standards prescribed in the insurance scheme from the date of registration. If the registration of any trader is cancelled in between, then he will automatically be out of the coverage of the insurance scheme from the date of cancellation of registration.
The Finance Minister said that information about the status of the trader’s registration can be obtained from the website www.gst.gov.in. If the insurance company does not make the payment within three months from the date of receipt of the claim of the deceased, then in such a situation the insurance company will have to pay the claim along with 10 percent annual interest as a penalty for the period of delay in issuing the cheque after three months.
