On the other hand, after the second consecutive defeat in the assembly elections for the opposition Congress, the performance of Haridwar Panchayat elections is going to prove to be a big setback. The Haridwar Panchayat elections were the first major test for the BJP and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who came to power for the second consecutive time with a two-thirds majority in the assembly elections.

The challenge before the BJP was even greater because in the assembly elections held earlier this year, the performance of the BJP in this district was much weaker than before.
This was the reason that along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, former Chief Minister and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank put full force in Haridwar. Chief Minister Dhami made several visits to Haridwar district during the last few weeks.
Haridwar MP Nishank played an important role in making the leaders of various parties having wide support base in the BJP camp in the district. The time of the last one-and-a-half-two months has not been easy for the BJP government. Earlier, a case of disturbance came to light in the graduate level recruitment examination of the Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
Taking quick action, the Chief Minister handed over the investigation to the STF. After this, the controversy over the appointments in the assembly caught fire. On the request of the Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan formed a three-member inquiry committee. Based on the report of the committee, the Chief Minister canceled 228 appointments of the Vis Secretariat on the recommendation of the President.
Best performance so far in Zilla Panchayat:
In fact, the opposition Congress, making it a big political issue, tried its best to put the government in the dock. Ankita Bhandari murder case came to light just before voting for Panchayat elections in Haridwar. With Pulkit, son of party leader Vinod Arya being the main accused in the murder case, the BJP once again found itself in an uncomfortable position. However, Chief Minister Dhami took strict steps in this matter as well.
Despite all this, the BJP has performed the best so far in the three-tier panchayat elections, especially in the district panchayat, so it is clear that the voters of Haridwar have reposed their faith in the BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This election performance in BJP will also generate enthusiasm for Mission 2024.
