Dhami government will implement PM Modi’s nine requests, will become the key to development

The Dhami government will effectively implement the nine requests made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 25th foundation day of the state as the key to the development of Uttarakhand. The concerned departments, including six major departments including tourism and education, will prepare a concrete action plan to comply with these requests and submit it to the government. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi issued instructions in this regard to the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, In-charge Secretaries and District Magistrates on Thursday. Prime Minister Modi has a deep attachment to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. On the foundation day of the state on November 9, his attachment to the state was again expressed. He made a request on nine points to the residents of the state as well as tourists coming from outside. The Prime Minister stressed on the preservation of local dialects like Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari. The Chief Secretary has directed Higher Education and School Education to prepare an action plan in this regard. Similarly, the Forest and Environment Department will prepare an action plan keeping the request for environmental protection at the center. While giving the mantra to take forward ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ as a movement, the Prime Minister had said that the faster the work is done in this direction, the more we will be able to fight the challenge of climate change.

An action plan will be made for the conservation of rivers and traditional houses

He expected Uttarakhand, which has a tradition of worshipping Naul-Dhaars, to conserve rivers along with these. Jalgam has been entrusted with the responsibility of preparing an action plan to comply with his request. Prime Minister Modi, who has been giving priority to the return of migrants, made the fourth request to the people of the state to connect with their villages. The General Administration Department will prepare an action plan in this regard. The Tourism Department will prepare an action plan to bring the request made for the conservation of traditional houses in villages to the ground. The fifth request was related to saving old houses in villages, especially houses with Tibari. These can be made a means of increasing income by making them homestays. The Tourism Department has this responsibility.

Tourists coming from outside will also be made aware
The Chief Secretary said that the Prime Minister also made four requests to the devotees and tourists coming from outside the state. In this regard, the Tourism Department has been instructed to coordinate with all the concerned departments and present an action plan for public awareness. He urged tourists to keep cleanliness paramount and not to use single-use plastic. The second request was to spend five percent of the travel expenses on buying local products, keeping in mind the mantra of Vocal for Local. The third request is related to following the traffic rules on the mountain. The Prime Minister made the fourth request to the devotees to know the customs and rules of religious places before the journey. He also requested to pay attention to the observance of decorum there.

The Chief Secretary will take regular updates
The Chief Secretary said that the Prime Minister’s request to the tourists coming from outside the state will be widely publicized. Instructions have been given to the officers to inform him about the action in this regard. He said that the nine requests of the Prime Minister are helpful in the development of the country including the all-round development of the state. Regular updates will be taken of the action being taken in this regard.
