Now the government is going to tighten its grip on coaching centres in the state. Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, in a meeting with departmental officials on Saturday, discussed in detail about implementing the guidelines issued by the Central Education Ministry for the regulation of coaching centres in the state. In the meeting, it was agreed to implement the Central Government Act in Uttarakhand as well. Under this, a registration authority will be nominated at the district level for the registration of private coaching centres. Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that an appellate authority will also be constituted at the district level to resolve any dispute related to coaching centres. Also, a regulatory body will be constituted in each district. The officials of the institution will visit private coaching institutes and test the prescribed standards and submit their report to the registration authority. Only after that the concerned centre will be registered. In this regard, the Higher Education Department will prepare a proposal and present it to the cabinet soon. Higher Education Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Additional Secretary Ashish Srivastava, Director General of School Education Banshidhar Tiwari, RUSA Advisor Prof MSM Rawat, Prof KD Purohit, Director of Higher Education Dr Anju Aggarwal, Deputy Secretary Byomesh Dubey, Joint Director Dr AS Uniyal and other departmental officers were present in the meeting. Vice Chancellors of all state universities were present through virtual medium.
Academic calendar should be implemented compulsorily in all educational institutions: Dr Dhan Singh Rawat
Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that the academic calendar prescribed by the government will be implemented compulsorily in all higher educational institutions of the state. For this, instructions have been given to the officials of the Directorate of Higher Education as well as all the state universities. Along with this, it has been asked to declare the examination results on time and complete the admission process as per the academic calendar, so that teaching can be started on time. Higher officials have been asked to remove the obstacles coming in the admission process through Samarth Portal. Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat held a meeting of the department at his official residence on Saturday. He reviewed the implementation of one admission, one examination, one result, one election and one convocation. He directed the Vice Chancellors of universities and the Director of Higher Education to implement the academic calendar compulsorily. Dr. Rawat said that the problems being faced in declaring the examination results and completing the admission process through the Samarth portal will be resolved soon.
For this, he directed the senior officials of the government to take immediate action on the spot. He said that along with education in higher educational institutions, attention should also be paid to other social aspects along with the formation of NCC, NSS, Rover Rangers. This will also enable the youth to get education based on moral and social values. The departmental minister emphasized on planting 20-20 saplings in every educational institution on the folk festival Harela.
