The scope of Ayushman Bharat Yojana increased, now 9.60 lakh elderly people in Uttarakhand will also get free treatment

The central government has decided to provide free treatment of Rs 5 lakh annually to people above 70 years of age. If the situation of the state is assessed, then more than 9.60 lakh elderly people will come under the purview of the scheme. In which 5.61 lakh people from 70 to 79 years are there and the number of people aged 80 and above is 3.98 lakh.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana
The central government started the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for the poor class on 23 September 2018. According to the standards of the Center, 5.37 lakh families of the state came under the purview of free treatment. The state government expanded the scope of Ayushman Yojana and implemented it as a universal scheme. Under the Atal Ayushman Yojana, free facility has been provided to all 23 lakh families of the state. Under which Ayushman cards of 57.60 lakh beneficiaries have been made so far. Whereas 12.39 lakh people have taken advantage of free treatment. However, the limit of annual treatment in Ayushman Yojana is Rs 5 lakh per family. Elderly people were also beneficiaries in this.

The amount of treatment of younger members will not be affected

Now, after the decision of the Union Cabinet, people above 70 years of age will get treatment of Rs 5 lakh separately. This will not affect the amount of Rs 5 lakh for the elderly, i.e. the treatment of younger members of the family. Under the Atal Ayushman Yojana in the state, cards of 3.83 lakh people above 70 years have been made so far. Apart from this, there is also a large number of central employees, ex-servicemen in the state. Who get the facility of free treatment under CGHS, ECHS scheme. At the same time, the state government has started the State Government Health Scheme for state employees and pensioners. Under which employees and pensioners get the benefit of unlimited cashless facility.
