After the closure of the doors of Chardham, now the government has geared up to encourage the travel to the winter seats of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams, Pandukeshwar-Jyotirmath, Ukhimath, Mukhaba and Kharsali. In this episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials in a high-level meeting on Friday that along with starting the journey to the winter seats of Chardham, it should be widely publicized. He also directed to give 10 percent discount in rent to the devotees coming to these places on staying in the hotels-rest houses of Garhwal Mandal Development Corporation (GMVN). The Chief Minister will also review the travel arrangements of the winter stay places next week.
Make road accident safety rules soon
The Chief Minister also directed to make road accident safety rules soon with a view to curb road accidents in the state. He asked the Director General of Police to increase night patrolling and increase police force on the roads for road safety. He also directed to run an intensive campaign to make Uttarakhand a drug free state by next year, to keep regular vigil on drug sellers and take strict action if found involved, and to get regular verification of people from other states living on rent.
Will conduct public hearing by staying overnight in districts
Chief Minister Dhami will soon visit the districts and stay overnight there. During this, he will inspect the development works along with public hearing, various arrangements and cleanliness related works in municipal bodies and government offices. For this, he has given instructions to issue a roster.
Will review the action plan of Strong Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister had directed all the departments to work on short and long term plans in view of the action plan of “Sashakt Uttarakhand” in the silver jubilee year of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister will also review it next week. Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari were present in the meeting.
Asha Nautiyal will take oath today
BJP MLA Asha Nautiyal, elected in the by-election of Kedarnath seat of the Assembly, will take oath on Saturday. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan will administer the oath of membership to her in the Assembly building. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt and other senior leaders will also be present on this occasion.
