Sports Mahakumbh will start in the state from October 4, players breaking national records will get heavy rewards

The Sports Mahakumbh in the state will be started from October 4. These games will run till December. In the initial phase, these games will be held at the Nyaya Panchayat level. After this, they will be organized at the block level, then at the district level and finally at the state level. Players from 14 years to 23 years can participate in these games. Also, players from all the schools of the state including Uttarakhand Board will be able to participate in it. This year, players breaking the national record will also be given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. On Saturday, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Rekha Arya held a virtual meeting with the officials of the Sports Department as well as the District Magistrates of all the districts in the Sports Directorate regarding the preparations for the Sports Mahakumbh. He said that the Sports Mahakumbh will be held from October 4 to October 31 at the Nyaya Panchayat level. These games will be held from October 25 to November 15 at the block level. These games will be held at the district level from November 16 to December 10. State level games will be started from December 15. The Sports Minister said that this is a golden opportunity for the beneficiary players of Mukhyamantri Udyaman and Mukhyamantri Protsahan Yojana. He said that the players who perform well will also be given prizes. All the winning players will also be given certificates along with cash prizes.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself will honor the District Magistrate of the district winning the most medals with the Chief Minister’s Trophy. The Sports Minister said that this is a golden opportunity for the players of the state to showcase their talent. This Maha Kumbh will not only empower the players, but will also develop their capabilities further.

Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha, Director Sports Jitendra Kumar Sonkar, Additional Director Ajay Agarwal, Joint Director Shakti Singh and officials of Youth Welfare and Sports Department were present in the meeting.
