Special plan will be made for Chardham Yatra 2024, Uttarakhand government will assess the carrying capacity of the places on the yatra routes including Dham.

The number of devotees in Chardham Yatra is sure to increase every year. In view of this, the government will assess the carrying capacity of the four Dhams as well as the places along the Yatra routes. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave instructions to the officials while reviewing the arrangements of Chardham Yatra, Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission, Kainchidham and Purnagiri at the Secretariat on Monday. Also directed to make special plans for the peak period of Chardham Yatra.

Emphasis on working by making an action plan
The Chief Minister said that along with the Chardham Yatra routes, proposals related to developing basic facilities including parking in important places of pilgrimage and tourism in the state should also be sent to the Housing Department. Before starting the Rishikesh-Karnprayag train service, he stressed on preparing an action plan for parking and other facilities in Karnprayag and its surrounding areas, apart from the railway routes. He expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the Chardham Yatra and told the officials that we have to keep the Yatra organized with the same dedication in future also. He said that offline registration for Chardham Yatra is postponed till May 31. Further decision in this regard will be taken according to the journey. He also asked the Divisional Commissioners of Garhwal and Kumaon to work on the route divert plan for the convenience of the devotees during the Chardham Yatra.

During the review meeting, a presentation was also given regarding the mobile app Yatra Samadhan being prepared to make Chardham Yatra easier and better. It was told that the purpose of this app is to provide information about the nearest police station, hospital, parking and other facilities of the four Dhams on one platform. Through this app, all the parties related to the journey like BKTC, temple administration, hotels, tour operators, transporters will also be able to connect with each other. The Chief Minister said that there should be such a system that all the travelers who come here for pilgrimage and tourism should reach there after registering. From this point of view, he also instructed ITDA and Tourism Department to further improve this app.
