Manveer Chauhan slams Cong for politicising NEET exam cancellation

Dehradun, 14 May: BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan today asserted that the Centre’s decision to cancel the NEET examination is in the interest of students and he insisted that Congress should refrain from politicising the issue. Chauhan stated that the move was necessary to safeguard the future of lakhs of aspirants.

Chauhan asserted that the BJP is committed to strict action against the paper leak mafia and no culprit will be spared. He pointed out that the racket spread across the country is being dismantled through raids in several states by investigating agencies. He said that as soon as suspicion of a leak arose, the examination was cancelled and a CBI inquiry was recommended, which clearly reflects the government’s intent.

He remarked that cancelling a flawed examination is better than declaring its results, and assured that the test will be conducted again in a transparent manner. He added that the main accused has already been arrested and the agency is working to trace every link in the chain to bring all offenders within the ambit of law. He emphasised that no political connection has surfaced in the case, yet Congress is indulging in blame-game politics with a pre-set agenda.

Chauhan urged that on such a sensitive matter concerning students’ welfare, all parties including Congress should desist from politicisation of the issue. He reminded that, in Uttarakhand, the Dhami government has not only enacted a stringent anti-cheating law but also taken tough measures against the mafia. He warned that, if any attempt is made to obstruct transparency, it will not be tolerated. He assured the youth that neither in the state nor in the country will injustice be allowed and every possible step is being taken to break the nexus of the cheating mafia. He reiterated that the Centre is determined to curb the menace and Congress has no need to play politics over it.
