The number of women associated with them is 3.67 lakh. These groups are producing a variety of products based on local resources. The economy of women is improved by the sale of products.
Survey being conducted on the economic status of women:
Meanwhile, a survey is also being conducted regarding the economic status of women belonging to women self-help groups. So far it has come to the notice that the annual income of 23 thousand women belonging to the groups is more than one lakh rupees. After the completion of the survey, this figure is expected to reach 35 thousand. In view of all this, the government has decided to launch Mukhyamantri Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi reviewed this scheme and other departmental schemes in a meeting with the officials. After the meeting, Cabinet Minister Joshi told that the target of the government is that in the year 2025, when Uttarakhand completes 25 years of its establishment, by then 1.25 lakh women belonging to self-help groups should also become lakhpatis.
