According to the forecast, Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hailstorms, intense to very intense spells of rainfall, and strong winds reaching speeds of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour at isolated places.
Heavy rainfall is also expected at some locations in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Bageshwar districts. The department has further forecast light to moderate rainfall at most places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts.
Snowfall may occur in areas located above 4,200 metres. In the remaining districts of the state, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely at many places.
The Met Department has advised pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra and tourists visiting other destinations across the state to remain vigilant and exercise caution during their travel.
