The exercise has intensified regarding the determination of electricity tariff for the financial year 2025-26 in Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission is going to hold a public hearing regarding the proposal for electricity rate hike. The public hearing will be started from February 18, which will conclude in Dehradun on February 28. Suggestions and objections of consumers and all stakeholders will be received in the public hearing to be held in a total of four cities. This time a proposal for about 12 percent rate hike has been sent by the Energy Corporation, which can also be seen on the Commission’s website.
Proposal for annual performance review received
The Regulatory Commission has received a proposal for annual, multi-year tariff and tariff of business plan for the financial year 2025-26 as well as correction for the financial year 2023-24 and annual performance review for the financial year 2024-25 from Energy Corporation, Pitkul, UJVNL and SLDC.
Proposal of 12 percent rate hike sent by Energy Corporation
On which public hearing is being organized by the Commission to get suggestions and objections from consumers and other related organizations, individuals. The Commission appeals that if any person or organization wants to present their opinion before the Commission regarding the proposal of tariff rates, then they can present their views in written or oral form by attending the public hearing.
Financial burden may increase on 27 lakh consumers
The above tariff petition proposals can be viewed on the Commission’s website www.uerc.gov.in. There is a possibility of tariff hike this time too, due to which financial burden may increase on about 27 lakh consumers of the state.
