After much deliberation, the decision to shift the High Court from Nainital to Haldwani was taken.

The state cabinet did not take the decision to shift the High Court from Nainital to Haldwani at all. The government has taken this decision after extensive deliberations. The government believes that this will not only ease the traffic till the High Court, but also relieve the tourist city of Nainital from the increasing pressure of the crowd.

Thoughts were being done for a long time:
Shifting of the Nainital High Court was under consideration for a long time. Different arguments were being given against and in favor of shifting the High Court from Nainital. This issue was also being continuously raised before the government. Eventually the government decided to shift it.

Nainital very expensive city:
It is believed that the litigants in Nainital face the most problems regarding accommodation and food here. Being a tourist town, Nainital is quite expensive. In view of this, it is not easy for the common man to come here in connection with his cases. Not only this, there is no direct train service to this place.

The journey is long as well as expensive:
Especially people coming from Garhwal division first reach Haldwani by train and then Nainital. For this reason, this journey is long as well as expensive for them. At the same time, there is a lot of open area in Haldwani at this time. With the coming of the High Court, this city will also develop and new avenues of employment will also open here.

It is very cold here:
It is also believed that it is not easy for persons coming from other states to stay in Nainital for a long time or permanently. The weather here is fine from the point of view of tourism for a few days, but it is very cold here. In such a situation, people from states with hot climate may have to face health related problems in staying here for a long time. For this reason also the demand was being raised to shift the High Court from Nainital.
