In view of the increased tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, civil defense mock drill is being conducted across the country on May 7. In this sequence, mock drill started in Dehradun regarding the attack. Siren sounded at seven places at 4:15 pm. Along with this, Civil Defense and Police alerted the people and advised them to stay safe. People are being alerted at public places. In the control room located in the Collectorate premises, all the district level officers including DM, SSP are monitoring the activities of the city through cameras.
Mock drill practice
During the mock drill practice, a building has collapsed in a missile attack in MDDA Colony. Some people have been injured. Medical team, SDRF team and other teams have left for the spot. On the other hand, there is a report of a bombing-like explosion near ISBT, due to which there is a stampede among the people. Relief and rescue work is going on by the medical team, SDRF team and other teams on the spot. The nearby shops have been closed.
Mock drills are being conducted at these places
In Dehradun, mock drills are being conducted by sounding sirens at Dhara Police Chowki, Blind School Rajpur Road, Lakkhi Bagh Police Station, District Magistrate Complex Collectorate Dehradun, Araghar Police Chowki, MDDA Colony near ISBT. After sounding sirens at Dhara Chowki located at Ghantaghar in Rajpur Road, drivers were stopped and advised not to panic and reach a safe place.
Distinct identity on the international map
Dehradun has a distinct identity on the international map. There are more than 100 central and defence institutes here. These include IMA, FRI, ONGC, various institutes of DRDO, Survey of India, DEAL, Ordnance Factory and The Doon School, Doon Welham, reputed schools. During this, the civil defence made the general public aware about rescue in view of any danger and alertness around defence institutes. On Tuesday, District Magistrate Savin Basnal and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh held a meeting with the Army, Paramilitary Force, Civil Defence wardens, volunteers and officials associated with the IRS system in Rishiparna Auditorium Collectorate and gave necessary instructions regarding the mock exercise.

The District Magistrate said that as per the instructions received from the Home Ministry, Government of India and Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand Government, to strengthen the preparations for civil security, people were alerted by sounding sirens and hooters at seven places under Dehradun at 4:15 pm on May 7.
