Uttarakhand is also ready for Mock Drill amid Indo-Pak tension, special focus will be on these districts adjoining the border

In line with the instructions of the central government, the state government is also ready for the mock drill to be held on May 7. Its focus will be especially on the border districts. Under this, emphasis will be laid on mock drill in the districts with airbases i.e. Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh. Also, other districts can also be connected to it. Guidelines will be issued in this regard on Tuesday.

Decision taken after Pahalgam attack
In view of the tension on the border after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the Home Ministry has instructed all the states and union territories to organize a mock drill on Wednesday, May 7. Its purpose is to teach school children and citizens how to escape from an attack if it happens. Civil defense will also play an important role in this. Although, detailed guidelines are awaited in this regard, but the police is engaged in its preparations. All districts are being instructed to prepare for the mock drill and make the public aware about safety in view of any attack. Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman says that no formal orders have been received yet, but the police keeps making such preparations at its own level. All preparations are in place for the mock drill to be held on May 7.
