PMO convenes meeting on 10th regarding Joshimath, PM’s advisor will review the situation

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is constantly monitoring the Joshimath town which is facing the brunt of the disaster in Chamoli district. In this episode, the PMO has called a meeting on February 10, in which Joshimath will be reviewed. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will also make a presentation regarding Joshimath in the meeting to be chaired by Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Secretary and Disaster Management Secretary of the state will join the meeting virtually. On the other hand, the meeting of the state cabinet to be held on February 10 will now be held on February 15 at the Chief Minister’s residence. It is believed that the date of the meeting has been postponed in view of the meeting of the PMO. In this, the cabinet will seal the proposal of relief package to be sent to the Center regarding Joshimath.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. PK Mishra had reviewed the situation in Joshimath in a high-level meeting on January 8 due to the increasing sequence of cracks in the buildings. After this, with a view to reach the bottom of the causes of the disaster and to solve the problem, the scientists of eight institutes had taken a front in Joshimath. These institutes have sent their preliminary report to NDMA. Along with this, the Prime Minister’s Office is constantly taking updates on the situation in Joshimath and the work related to relief and investigation going on there.
Now the PMO has called a meeting on February 10 at Joshimath at 3.30 pm. A letter has also been sent to the government in this regard. It has been told that the Prime Minister’s advisor will take this meeting. A presentation will be made on behalf of NDMA regarding Joshimath in the meeting.
Apart from the high officials of the Union Home Ministry, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary Anand Srivastava and other officers will join virtually in the meeting.
From the point of view of Joshimath, this meeting is being considered more important. In this, on the basis of the report of scientific institutions by NDMA, a blueprint of measures to solve the problem can be presented. Along with this, important guidelines can be given to the Uttarakhand government from the PMO. Not only this, the preparations for the Chardham Yatra to be held from the third week of April are also expected to be discussed in the meeting.

NDMA consulted:
Joshimath was discussed in the NDMA meeting held on Tuesday in Delhi. The preliminary report of the scientists was briefly discussed in the meeting chaired by the Member Secretary, NDMA. According to Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, NDMA will brainstorm with the scientific institutions involved in the investigation in Joshimath on Wednesday regarding their preliminary report.
