PM Modi took update on the tunnel accident on phone from Chief Minister Dhami, said – ‘All laborers will be evacuated safely’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami over phone and took updates on the relief and rescue operations being carried out for the workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi. PM Modi said, all the necessary equipment and resources are continuously being made available by the Central Government. Also, the workers will be evacuated safely in coordination with central and state agencies. There is a need to maintain the morale of the stranded workers. On Monday morning, former PMO advisor Bhaskar Khulbe and PMO Deputy Secretary Mangesh Ghildiyal appealed to all the concerned departments (RVNL, Navyug, ONGC, State PWD, BRO and THDC) involved in the rescue operation and asked them to inform them about the measures being taken to save the workers. Asked to provide the report of the rescue operation by evening.
Let us tell you that the Border Roads Organization has stopped the construction of the road late on Sunday night. According to sources, vibration in the tunnel has come to light during road construction. About 100 meters of road still remains to be constructed. While the work of laying 125 mm pipe is going on for the workers inside the tunnel. Late at night this pipe was laid up to 57 meters. But, the pipe element went in the wrong direction. Efforts are being made to correct the pipe alignment.
