Both the commissions have taken immediate cognizance of these heinous crimes and demanded strict action against the culprits. In the case of rape with a 12-year-old girl in Nainital district, the commission has contacted the victim’s family and assured all possible help. In this case, after talking to the Senior Superintendent of Police of Nainital on phone, directed to expedite the investigation of the case, immediate arrest of the accused and ensure strict legal action. The commission also directed the district administration and child welfare committee to provide immediate medical, mental and legal assistance to the victim. Dr. Khanna said that the commission itself will monitor this entire case.
70-year-old rape accused habitual offender
Dr. Khanna said that the accused appears to be a habitual offender. He had committed such a crime with the girl two months ago as well. Then the victim could not tell anyone anything due to fear. The matter came to light when the girl’s grandmother came to know about the incident on 23 April. Dr. Khanna said that the SSP has been ordered to investigate this matter thoroughly from every aspect. He also expressed concern over the incidents of rape of a minor in Dehradun and rape of a young woman in Nainital.
Run bulldozer on the property of the accused: Kandwal
At the same time, State Women Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal also strongly condemned the rape of a minor girl in Nainital. She demanded the Chief Minister to run bulldozer on the property of such accused. Along with this, she also requested the fast track court to give strict punishment as soon as possible to those who cross the limits of brutality. The Commission Chairperson spoke to Nainital SSP Prahlad Meena over the phone and instructed to take strict action. He has also asked the District Magistrate to cancel all the licenses of the accused contractor. He said that Commission member Urmila Joshi will soon meet the victim minor girl and her family.
