Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that scout guide units will be opened in medical education, Sanskrit schools and madrassas. A target has been set to register more than one lakh students as Scout Guides and Rover Rangers in the state by the year 2025. It was informed that along with family and social responsibilities, Scout Guides will actively participate in the national programs organized.
A meeting of the Regional Council was held at the Directorate of Education, Nanurkheda on Monday. During this, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Regional President of Bharat Scout Guide Uttarakhand and Education Minister said that the scope of Scout Guide will be expanded in the state. For this, registrations will be started for scout guides in school education, higher education, medical education, Sanskrit schools and madrassas.
Apart from this, Scout Guides will be linked to de-addiction, blood donation, road safety, new voters, literacy campaigns. Told that Uttarakhand is a sensitive state in terms of disaster. 10 thousand scout guides will also be given training in disaster management.
Uttarakhand will get a chance to organize the international 11th Asia-Pacific Region Scout Leaders Summit in April 2024. The regional building construction, vehicle and other infrastructure proposals of Scout Guide will be sent to the government in the financial year. An action plan will be prepared for conducting annual activities.
On this occasion, Regional Chief Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides Uttarakhand and Director Secondary Education Seema Jaunsari, Regional Commissioner Vandana Garbyal, Raghunath Lal Arya, State Secretary RM Kala, Chief Commissioner DRN Bharti, Vice President Prof. AS. Uniyal, Dr. Anita Chamola, Dr. Sai Kiran Tomar etc. were present.
Unit leaders honored
16 Scout Guide participants from the state took part in the national level Jamboree organized in Rajasthan in January 2023, in which they stood first and received the National Commissioner Shield. Apart from this, Scout Guides of Uttarakhand have also won Vice President Shield, Olive Award at international level. The Education Minister honored the unit leaders of Scout Guides who have brought glory to the country and the state by giving them shields.
