Government will provide up to four times loan to start small business, proposal for new policy ready

The state government will now provide up to four times loan to start small business to promote self-employment. A proposal for a new policy has been prepared by adjusting the currently running Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme and Chief Minister Self-Employment Atmik Micro (Nano) Scheme. In which the loan limit for small business is being increased from 50 thousand to two lakhs. The new Chief Minister Self-Employment Policy may be approved in the upcoming cabinet meeting. To provide employment during the Covid pandemic, the state government had started the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme (MSY) and Chief Minister Self-Employment Atmik Micro Scheme. Under the MSY scheme, a loan of 10 to 25 lakhs is provided for manufacturing, service and trade sector and 15 to 25 percent subsidy is given.
Similarly, under the Nano scheme, a subsidy of 25 to 35 percent is available on a loan of 50 thousand for small business. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Industry Department has prepared a proposal for the new Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Policy by adjusting both the policies. With this policy, a target was set to connect 50 thousand people with self-employment in the next five years.

Provision of subsidy in the proposed policy

Category of investment area – Up to two lakhs – Two to 10 lakhs – 10 to 25 lakhs (project cost)

Areas of A and B category – 30 percent – 25 percent – 20 percent

Areas of C and D category – 25 percent – 20 percent – 15 percent

Five percent additional subsidy to women

In the new policy, provision of five percent additional subsidy is being made to women beneficiaries. Apart from this, the benefit of additional subsidy will be given for starting self-employment in rural area and Nagar Panchayat area, manufacturing one district two products or GI marked product.

31715 got employment from Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana
Under Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana, from 2020 to January 2025, loans were provided to 31715 people from various businesses. More than 95 thousand people have got employment by adopting self-employment. Apart from this, employment was provided to 4658 beneficiaries for small business under Nano Yojana.
