Dehradun: Responsibilities Assigned After Cabinet Expansion; 14 Senior Leaders Given Key Roles

Dehradun: Following the recent cabinet expansion, the Uttarakhand government has begun assigning responsibilities to senior leaders across various boards, commissions, and advisory bodies. In a significant administrative move, a total of 14 leaders have been appointed to key positions, marking the next phase of governance restructuring.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt extended their congratulations and best wishes to all the newly appointed office bearers. The leadership expressed confidence that these appointments would strengthen governance and ensure effective implementation of government policies.

The official orders regarding these appointments were issued by Shailesh Bagoli, Secretary (Home and Confidential), on Friday.

As per the government notification, Kuldeep Sutola from Dehradun has been appointed as the Chairman of the State-Level Sports Council. Dhruv Rautela from Nainital has been named Vice Chairman of the Media Advisory Committee. From Champawat, Haripriya Joshi has been given a role in the State Women Commission, while Vinod Suyal from Tehri has been appointed to the State Youth Welfare Advisory Council.

Mukesh Mahrana, also from Champawat, has been included in the Tea Development Advisory Council. Charu Kothari from Dehradun has been assigned a role in the State Construction Movement Honor Council, recognizing contributions related to the statehood movement.

Further appointments include Prem Singh Rana from Chamoli, who has been nominated to the Tribal Commission. Khem Singh Chauhan from Tehri has been placed in the OBC Welfare Council, while Sona Sajwan, also from Tehri, has been appointed to the Herbal Advisory Committee.

From Almora, Govind Pilkhwat has been entrusted with responsibilities in the Handloom and Handicrafts Development Council. Baljeet Soni from Dehradun has been appointed to the Minority Commission. Seema Chauhan from Kashipur has been made Vice Chairperson of the Fisheries Development Authority.

In addition to these appointments, senior BJP leaders Bhawna Mehra and Ashok Verma have also been assigned important responsibilities, although specific roles for them were not detailed in the initial announcement.

These appointments come as part of the government’s effort to ensure balanced regional representation and to involve experienced leaders in advisory and developmental roles. The move is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and accelerate the execution of various welfare and development initiatives across the state.

The state leadership has emphasized that all appointed members are expected to actively contribute to their respective departments and uphold the government’s vision of inclusive growth and good governance.
