Congress national spokesperson Supriya Shrinet on Sunday released the party’s manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand at the party’s state office. He said that this letter has been prepared on the basis of the feedback received from the public during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Nyay Yatra of former national president of the party Rahul Gandhi. It promises five justices and 25 guarantees for youth, women, farmers, workers and deprived sections of the society.
Big responsibility of election campaign on Congress satraps of the state
In the Lok Sabha elections, the major responsibility of Congress’s campaign war in Uttarakhand is going to be on the big leaders of the state. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, State Congress President Karan Mahara, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, former State President Pritam Singh as well as former cabinet ministers and MLAs will have to stand on the campaign front along with the candidates.
At the same time, the difficulty of the state organization is that veteran leaders are limited to one Lok Sabha constituency. The party and the candidates may have to struggle to get their support in campaigning in other constituencies. The party’s central leaders will reach the Lok Sabha as star campaigners for election campaign, but their programs may remain limited. It is being told that on behalf of the candidates, leaders like former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Hooda, Imran Pratapgarhi are expected to come as star campaigners. However, the names of these leaders are not in the list of star campaigners released by the party.
Karan Mahara and Yashpal Arya took charge of the front. State Congress President Karan Mahara and Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya are campaigning in favor of party candidates in all the five Lok Sabha constituencies. Their programs have been decided by the state organization. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat is most in demand among the star campaigners of the state. It is a different matter that it is challenging for Harish Rawat to find time for each Lok Sabha constituency.
His son Virendra Rawat is the Congress candidate from Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency. The responsibility of making Virendra win is on his shoulders. Making equations with former cabinet ministers and MLAs, former state president and Chakrata MLA Pritam Singh is busy campaigning for party candidate Jot Singh Gunsola from Tehri Lok Sabha constituency. Till now they have been used less in election campaigning in other Lok Sabha constituencies.
The party is also using former cabinet ministers Shoorveer Singh Sajwan, Navprabhat, Harak Singh Rawat, Hira Singh Bisht, ministers Prasad Naithani and Govind Singh Kunjwal in the election campaign. However, the name of senior leader and former cabinet minister Heera Singh Bisht is not in the list of star campaigners released by Congress. Bisht has also expressed his displeasure regarding this. Along with this, 18 MLAs, former MLAs and former MPs of the party have also been fielded for area wise campaign keeping the social equation in mind.
