On Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 16 different development schemes worth about 120 crores at Sidkul Roshanabad, Haridwar. This includes inauguration of 9 development schemes worth 52.22 crores and foundation stone laying of 7 schemes worth more than 68 crores. The Chief Minister also provided houses to 528 poor families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana on the occasion.
On this occasion, in the programme, the Chief Minister said construction of service lane in Sidkul with drain, construction of bridge over river Ro, construction of water tank to solve the problem of drinking water in Sidkul Bahadarabad industrial area, construction of drain to solve the problem of water logging in Sidkul area. Along with the construction of internal roads of Bahadara Industrial Sidewalk area to be connected with the big drain, construction work was done through the Public Works Department, it was announced to set up a fire station in Bahadarabad industrial area. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed buildings under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and also flagged off the animal ambulance.
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that these schemes would prove to be a milestone in the development of the region. This will also help in realizing the resolution of the overall development of the state. Congratulating the people who became owners of their own houses, the Chief Minister said that the fulfillment of the dream of a common man’s house brings stability in his life.
The Chief Minister said that this campaign of ours to provide pucca houses to the poor is not just a government scheme, it is a commitment to give confidence to each and every underprivileged of the state that the government is determined for their empowerment. He said that earlier houses, shops, vehicles, fields used to be in the name of all men, but by changing this rule, we did the work of making women the owners of the house. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also done the work of making crores of didis of the country millionaires from the PM Awas of lakhs of rupees under this scheme.
The Chief Minister said that while providing assistance to the beneficiaries and development works, our government neither looks at the caste of the poor nor the religion of the poor. Dedicated to the poor, our government understands the needs of the poor very well and is working day and night to provide a pucca roof to every poor, as a result of which such a large number of houses have been built in record time.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, poor families have got more than 4 crore pucca houses in the country in the last 9 years, out of which about 70 percent houses are in the name of women. The government that was there before 2014 had sanctioned only 13 lakh houses under urban housing schemes in the country and out of this only 8 lakh houses were built. This also proves that when a government works with “Antyodaya” as its goal, then the results are so different.
The Chief Minister said that the work of writing a new definition of development in the country has been done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the basis of service and good governance. The level at which the oppressed and the deprived are being empowered in the country has never happened before. Under the inspiration and guidance of the Prime Minister, a new era of development has started in Uttarakhand as well. Today, many works are being done in the direction of strengthening the infrastructure of the state and making the state self-reliant. Connectivity is being improved at every level in the state, emphasis is being laid on the development of industries and policies are being formulated keeping in mind the needs of the future. Our cities are fast becoming centers of economic activity and keeping this in view we are constantly preparing our cities for the future.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has already declared the third decade of 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand. Now we have to make his statement meaningful with our full potential. By adopting the basic mantra of “Charaiveti Charaiveti”, we have to prove the “choiceless resolution” of the best Uttarakhand while speeding up the development. He said that in this nectar of India, everyone will have to come together and become cooperative in achieving the goal of the state’s all-round development.
Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishak’ said that the construction of these houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been completed in record time. He said that Uttarakhand will be made a model state by the year 2025 with everyone’s efforts.
Cabinet Minister Premchandra Aggarwal, Rajya Sabha MP Kalpana Saini, City MLA Haridwar Madan Kaushik, Ranipur MLA Adesh Chauhan, Mayor Municipal Corporation Haridwar Anita Sharma also addressed the programme.
District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey threw light in detail on the schemes inaugurated and foundation stone laid on this occasion. Roorkee MLA Pradeep Batra, BJP District President Haridwar Sandeep Goyal, President Roorkee Shobharam Prajapati, former MLA Jwalapur Suresh Rathore, BJP General Secretary Ashu Chowdhary, Vice President Tiwari, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh and other officers were present on the occasion.
