CM Dhami’s cabinet meeting today, decision may be taken on UCC and Haridwar Medical College

The government is going to take another important step towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state. In the cabinet meeting to be held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the rules mentioning the provisions for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code will be approved. The state government has repeatedly reiterated its commitment to implement the Uniform Civil Code this month. In such a situation, it is expected that its implementation will be announced on January 26. This rule book must get the approval of the cabinet before this. Therefore, the state government had requested the State Election Commission to allow the cabinet to hold a meeting.

The rules can be discussed
After the permission of the commission, this meeting is now being held on Monday. If sources are to be believed, the rules prepared by the Home Department will be discussed in the meeting. If no questions are raised in the rules, then it is likely to get approval from the cabinet. Apart from this, discussion on some other topics is also possible in the cabinet. One of the main issues in this is to give Haridwar Medical College on PPP mode. The Health Department has invited proposals from the private sector to give Haridwar Medical College on PPP mode. However, after this, many questions were raised about it. Now the final decision on this has to be taken by the Cabinet. If sources are to be believed, apart from this, the operation of new heli service, the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of inauguration of National Games, the upcoming budget and service rules of some departments can be discussed in the meeting. This meeting has been called at the Secretariat at 9:30 in the morning.

Strategic skills of ministers and MLAs on test

On the other hand, the strategic skills of the ministers and MLAs of the BJP government will also be on test regarding the civic elections. They have played an important role from candidate selection to preparing the election strategy. Not only this, the BJP organization and the government are also taking the election campaign forward in coordination. In this scenario, whatever results of the civic elections will come, their fame or disgrace will be in the account of the ministers and MLAs of the government.

Currently, elections are being held for 100 municipal bodies in Uttarakhand, out of which BJP is contesting in 93. In seven Nagar Panchayats, it has announced to support the alliance partners or such candidates for the post of president who can defeat the opposition. The party’s performance was better in the last civic elections. At that time, the party had formed its boards in five out of eight municipal corporations. Along with this, the party had also hoisted its flag in 80 Nagar Palika Parishads and Nagar Panchayats.
