Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the by-election for the Kedarnath assembly seat to be held on November 20. From the point of view of the ruling party BJP, this seat is linked to its prestige. In view of this, the party is taking every step cautiously after learning from past experiences.
BJP has decided to give concrete shape to the Champawat by-election model in Kedarnath. Under this, there will be special emphasis on the mantra of booth won – election won, the organization and the government will work together in mutual coordination for victory in the electoral battle. Not only this, the party has also fixed the responsibility of workers from the province to the lower level in view of the election. Some time ago, BJP had to taste defeat in the by-election of Badrinath and Mangalore assembly seats. This is the first time in the state, when the ruling party faced disappointment in the by-election. Although, Mangalore seat was earlier with BSP, on which Congress won in the by-election. Although the Badrinath seat was not with the BJP even earlier, it was important in the sense that during the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP pulled the Congress MLA there to its side and then made him a candidate in the by-election. Learning from the results of the by-elections of these two seats, the BJP has made a comprehensive strategy for the by-election of the Kedarnath seat. The reason is that this seat was earlier with the BJP, and it is facing the challenge of retaining it. In view of this, the party has decided to bring its Champawat model to the ground in the Kedarnath by-election. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had won a one-sided victory in the by-election of the Champawat seat. There, the organization and the government put in their strength with tremendous coordination. Workers up to the booth level were given responsibility on the front. Like the Champawat model, the BJP is engaged in the Kedarnath area. In this sequence, teams of 15-15 workers have been active at all the 174 booths of the assembly constituency for a long time. Panna pramukhs have been deployed at each booth, who are contacting the voters included in the page of the voter list allotted to them.
Five ministers of the state government have been given the responsibility of one mandal each in this area. Now a panel of six names has been sent to the central leadership for candidate selection. Once the candidates are declared, the organization and the government will work on the front with full dedication. In this sequence, the programs of election meetings of national leaders including the Chief Minister are being finalized.
