After dealing with the by-election of Kedarnath seat of the assembly, BJP has now started preparing for the civic elections. In this sequence, feedback is being taken for the ground assessment of the names emerging from the districts of the contenders willing to contest the elections in the bodies. Not only this, the party will also conduct two surveys in the case of the first three names in the panel for the selection of candidates. One of these will be among the workers and the other among the people of the concerned body area. The party will give ticket in the civic elections to the one who tops in this. Apart from this, there is also a plan to appoint separate in-charges for Municipal Corporation and Municipal Councils. After not getting success in the by-elections of Badrinath and Mangalore seats of the assembly, BJP worked with full force in the by-election of Kedarnath seat and achieved success. It is clear that the victory of Kedarnath has also boosted the morale of the party workers. BJP is now going to enter the civic elections with increased morale. In this sequence, the provincial leadership of the party has recently taken feedback from MLAs, district heads and district in-charges and has also discussed the names of the contenders in view of the reservation to be decided in the bodies.
Meanwhile, many names have emerged from the party’s side who are willing to contest the civic elections in various bodies. The provincial leadership of the party is taking feedback from the workers and intellectuals of the districts in view of these names. BJP’s state president Mahendra Bhatt confirmed this. He said that the party will soon finalize its strategy for the civic elections. The party has decided that as soon as the civic elections are announced, observers will be sent to the districts for the selection of candidates, who will prepare a panel of contenders. According to state president Bhatt, a survey will be conducted at two levels to assess the ground reality of the first three names included in the panel. Under this, not only the opinion of the workers will be taken, but a survey will also be conducted among the public. The party will bet on the one who comes first in both the surveys. The effort will be to field only a winning candidate.
