Silk Federation’s fourth textile sales center was started at Silk Park Premnagar-Dehradun, in which various types of silk and mixed silk products will be sold at very concessional rates. In this sale counter, mainly handloom products manufactured in Uttarakhand along with the products being outsourced by the Federation, silk sarees, suits etc., fine silk products will be available. Vest coats, mufflers, hill caps, kurtas and silk fabrics are prominent in men’s clothing.
In the program, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi appreciated the innovative experiments being done by the Federation in post-coastal activities and assured to help the Federation in every way for the promotion of silk textile development program.
On the occasion of the inauguration of SAIL counter from Silk Park by the Cooperation Minister, the loan schemes being run by the State Government and the Central Government to help the farmers were informed and the Union was instructed to prepare a five-year plan to double the income of the farmers. The tax should be sent to the Government of India for financial support. Assuring him that the Federation’s assistance in every way from his ministry would be given for the promotion of silk development works, a target was given to reach the profit of the union to 02 crores in the next two years. In the program, Managing Director Anand Shukla informed that the Federation has plans to open 10 new outlets in the coming time. Which is targeted to be completed in this financial year and at the end of this financial year, the Federation will keep its profit up to 01 crore.
Federation President Chaudhary Ajit Singh informed the Federation that not only weaving work is being done by the Federation. But silk cocoons of about 4000 silk coco producers of the state are also being procured.
The program was conducted by Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director Resham. The program was presided over by Cantt MLA Savita Kapoor and the program was attended by Chairman of Silk Federation Ch. Ajit Singh, Registrar Cooperative Society Alok Kumar Pandey, Vice President Vikram Singh Bisht, Dharamvir Singh Tomar, Member of Management Committee, Sunil Kumar Banarsi Lal, Satyapal, Devendra Bisht. Representatives of weavers and insect rearers were present along with Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director, Directorate of Silk.
