Supplementary budget designed to glorify CM: Arya
Bharadisain : The leader of the opposition Yashpal Arya has said that the supplementary budget was designed by the State government for its promotion and to glorify the Chief Minister’s announcements in an election year. He said that Uttarakhand is grappling with serious problems such as disasters, migration, unemployment, a poor education system and human-wildlife conflict, but the government appears more concerned with building its image and wooing youth before the elections than providing relief to the public. “ Why is the government so keen to proclaim its achievements using public money. Has unemployment been eradicated in Uttarakhand, have disaster victims received full compensation, have hospitals and schools improved, that such vast sums are being spent on advertisements,’’ he questioned.
Godiyal questions short duration of VS session
Bharadisain: The Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal has said that by holding a very short session of Vidhan Sabha in Bharadisain, Gairsain, the State government has misused the taxpayers’ money. He said that the government should have convened the session in Dehradun if the session was to be limited to just a few hours. Godiyal said that the Congress MLAs wanted to seek answers from the government on the Ankita Bhandari murder case, widespread corruption in the State, unemployment and other public issues, but the opposition’s demand for a discussion on these issues was rejected. He said that if the Congress government is formed in the State, Gairsain will be declared the permanent capital of Uttarakhand.
