CM holds discussion with DG NCC in New Delhi

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is striving to inculcate a feeling of patriotism, discipline, leadership skills and spirit of service among the youth. The CM said this during his meeting with the director general of National Cadet Corps (NCC), lieutenant general Virendra Vats in New Delhi on Thursday. In the meeting the duo discussed expansion plans of the NCC in Uttarakhand, ensuring effective reach of the NCC to border and inaccessible areas and the development of the organization’s modern infrastructure.

The DG NCC emphasized the need to establish and expand new NCC units in border and remote areas of the State. He briefed the CM on future plans, including the development of modern training infrastructure in the State, strengthening training facilities and the establishment of a proposed NCC Academy.

 Dhami said that NCC is a prestigious organization in the country that develops national character, leadership skills, self-confidence and a sense of social responsibility among the youth, and plays a vital role in nation-building.  Assuring the State government’s full support for all initiatives related to the expansion of the NCC and in the State, the CM said that every possible assistance would be provided for the effective and timely implementation of these projects. He expressed confidence that these efforts would provide the State’s youth with greater opportunities for personality development, leadership training and national service.
