Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated several ambitious urban development schemes at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. He launched 115 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in 52 municipal bodies across the state and inaugurated 15,600 new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). He also launched the registration campaign for street vendors and Angikar 2.0, and flagged off 244 new vehicles for solid waste management. The CM stated that these schemes will lead to significant improvements in healthcare services in municipal areas, provide housing for urban poor, support livelihoods for street vendors, and transform the sanitation and solid waste management sector. He added that through these schemes, Uttarakhand’s municipalities will set an example for the entire country and perform exceptionally well in the Swachhata Survekshan (Cleanliness Survey). He said, “These new initiatives will not only help make urban areas cleaner, more beautiful, and healthier, but will also play a crucial role in improving the quality of life. The AMRUT Yojana has strengthened urban infrastructure, including water supply, sewerage, and green spaces. The Smart City Mission has presented an ideal model of urban development by integrating technology and civic amenities. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, lakhs of poor families have received their own pucca (permanent) houses.” The Chief Minister stated that with the guidance and support of the Prime Minister, the state government is continuously striving to give a new direction to the development of Uttarakhand. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, solid waste management and sanitation systems are being strengthened in every city. The state government is striving to ensure that every citizen of Uttarakhand benefits from various welfare schemes such as the Smart City Mission, PM SVANIDHI Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and AMRUT Mission.
