The state government, taking lessons from heli accidents on Kedarnath Dham route in the first phase of Chardham Yatra, is seriously taking steps forward for its operation in the second phase. Under this, control rooms will be set up in Kedarnath, Sirsi and Dehradun to keep an eye on heli services. Automated weather observation system is being installed to keep an eye on the weather. Along with this, the pilot’s daily flying hours will also be monitored. In the second phase of this Chardham Yatra in the state, heli services for Kedarnath are starting from September 15. Their booking will be done from September 10. The number of passengers in the second phase of heli services for Kedarnath has been reduced. Along with this, shuttle services have been reduced by 30 percent. Now all the heli companies will provide only 184 shuttle services per day. At the same time, only 1012 passengers will be taken to Kedarnath every day and the same number of passengers will be brought back every day. Flying will not be allowed in bad weather. Also, pilots will not fly more than eight hours per day. In the second phase, only seven companies will operate heli services. Aryan Aviation and Heritage Aviation are banned from operating due to heli accidents and violation of standards.
