Verification campaign will be run at block and tehsil level in the state in Operation Kalanemi.

In order to strictly curb the persons of criminal tendency active in Sanatan Dharma by hiding their identity in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, an intensive verification campaign will be run at tehsil and block level in the districts. Along with this, common citizens will be made aware to avoid such crimes by organizing workshops at district, tehsil and block level. The special team formed at the police headquarters level will receive the report in this regard from each district and send it to the government. Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli has issued orders in this regard to the Director General of Police and Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police of all the districts on Monday. The order said that some persons of criminal tendency in the state are involved in crime against a particular person or society by hiding their real identity and wearing a disguise. Crimes like kidnapping, rape, deception, miraculous treatment are being committed with fake identity by hiding caste, religion, origin, gender, place of birth or residence. Along with this, crimes related to cyber crime, deception for marriage, making identity card to obtain Indian citizenship through fake documents and human trafficking are also included. Intensive verification campaign is necessary to prevent such crimes. To give information about such criminals at state and district level, message should also be given on internet media through Superintendent of Police level officer. The government has asked the Police Headquarters to effectively implement Operation Kalanemi campaign. Action will be taken on such crimes under Indian Judicial Code, Medicines and Magic Act, 1984, Information Technology Act, 2000, Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion Act, 2018.

Deceptive identification and misleading the public by wearing the attire of other religious and sects – Giving misleading information about a medicine and its miraculous treatment – Crimes through advertisements – Electronic passwords, cyber fraud, fake internet media profiles, phishing digital crimes – Harassment by threatening to publish fabricated pictures on internet media – Cheating in the name of marriage – Identification of foreign citizens residing in the country on the basis of fake documents – Creation and use of fake identity cards and certificates – Human trafficking on the basis of false statements and false documents – Taking advantage of government schemes on the basis of fabricated documents
