The Dhami government has reached the summer capital Gairsain after crossing mountain-like challenges for the assembly monsoon session. The government remained firm on the decision to hold the session in Gairsain amidst heavy rains and disasters. However, from the bureaucracy to the MLAs, everyone was feeling uncomfortable with holding the session in Gairsain amidst the rain. They were looking towards the government to hold the session in Dehradun. On holding the budget session in Dehradun in February 2025, the opposition also questioned the government’s intention to ignore the summer capital Gairsain. At that time, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri herself had urged the government that the work of digitization and sound system is going on in the House under e-Neva in Bhararisain Assembly. Due to which it is not possible to hold the budget session. Usually the budget session is held in Gairsain by the government. Due to the absence of budget session, the government decided to hold the monsoon session in Gairsain. The government was hoping that the monsoon would weaken after August 15. But this did not happen. Due to continuous rain, disaster wreaked havoc in Dharali, Harshil of Uttarkashi district, Sainji of Pauri district.
The government machinery was also feeling uncomfortable about holding the session in Gairsain
Seeing the situation like landslides in the mountains, floods in the gaderas due to heavy rains, the government machinery was also feeling uncomfortable about holding the session in Gairsain. But Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami did not reverse the decision of the government. He remained firm on holding the session in Gairsain. The distance of Gairsain from Dehradun by road is about 260 km.
