The weather department has issued a warning on Saturday regarding heavy rain and lightning in Dehradun, Champawat and Nainital districts. Apart from this, there is a possibility of lightning with thunder in some places in Udham Singh Nagar district and heavy and very heavy rain in some hilly districts. Dehradun experienced humid heat till noon on Friday. Due to clear weather, bright sunshine prevailed. After three o’clock in the evening, the sky suddenly became cloudy and heavy showers started, due to which the temperature dropped.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of partly to generally cloudy weather in Dehradun today, and one or two rounds of light to moderate rain. This rain may be heavy in some areas. The maximum temperature may be around 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may be around 25 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid going to the banks of rivers and streams, especially in the mountainous areas. There is also a possibility of landslides and traffic disruption due to heavy rainfall.
