CM Dhami strict on scholarship scam in madrasas of the state, ordered investigation

The Chief Minister has ordered the Special Secretary Minority Welfare to investigate the matter of scholarship given to schools funded by the Central Government by showing Saraswati Shishu Mandir High School as a minority school on paper.

In Udham Singh Nagar district, information about the documents of 796 children of the district was sought to check the authenticity of minority scholarship applicants registered on the National Scholarship Portal for 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Out of these, information about 456 children studying in six madrasas, educational institutions has been found suspicious.

The special thing is that the name of Saraswati Shishu Mandir High School Kichha is also included in these schools. This has brought the matter of scam to light. Saraswati Shishu Mandir is not a minority school, secondly its director is said to be Mohammad Shariq-Atiq. According to the National Scholarship Portal, 154 Muslim children are said to be studying here. There is a stir after seeing this name on the National Scholarship Portal. CM Dhami has ordered Special Secretary Minority Welfare Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate to investigate. The government has also given instructions to verify 125 Muslim students studying in National Academy JMYIHS of Kashipur and its director Gulshafa Ansari, 27 children of Madrasa Al Jamia Ul Madaria and its director Mohammad Faizan. Apart from this, instructions have been given to check the documents of Javed Ahmed, director of Madrasa Albia Rafiq Ul Uloom Ghansara Bajpur and 39 children here, 24 children of Madrasa Jamia Aaliya of Gadarpur in the name of Javed Ahmed and to verify 85 children of Madrasa Jamia Raza Ul Uloom Bajpur and director Irshad Ali. Chief Minister Dhami has given instructions to verify the applicants about minority educational institutions, information of bank accounts regarding payment, investigation of both operators and students and asked to submit the report in two weeks. In this case, communication is also being done with the Ministry of the Central Government.
The information of the applicants given in the National Scholarship Portal in the state seems suspicious. In which a case of scholarship in the name of Saraswati Shishu Mandir has also come to the fore. The Special Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department has been directed to investigate it. Cases of corruption will not be tolerated in Devbhoomi under any circumstances.
