Names of owners should be written on hotels on the Kanwar Yatra route, DM and SSP gave instructions while reviewing the preparations.

District Magistrate Tehri Nikita Khandelwal and Senior Superintendent of Police Ayush Agarwal inspected the Muni Ki Reti area regarding the Kanwar Yatra. The DM ordered to follow the safety standards in the dhabas and hotels located on the Yatra route. Also, instructions were given to compulsorily write the names of the owners on the board of the hotels located on the Yatra route. During the Kanwar Yatra, there is a lot of crowd pressure in the Muni Ki Reti area. On Tuesday, the DM and SSP Tehri examined the Yatra arrangements. The lights installed in the parking of Dhalwala, the drinking water system and the control room of the CCTV camera were inspected. The District Magistrate expressed displeasure over the slow pace of construction work of drains being done by the Irrigation Department in Dhalwala. He instructed to keep slabs on the drains under construction and to keep the roads clean.

SDM Narendranagar Ashish Ghildiyal was asked to talk to the operators of ashrams located on Shivanand Ghat and coordinate to install chains and barricades for security on private ghats. On inspection of Shatrughan Ghat, Executive Engineer Irrigation Kamal Singh said that 120 new chains have been installed on the ghat. The District Magistrate instructed to deploy water police for security on the ghat and construct pre-fabrication. He also instructed the Municipal Corporation Executive Officer to repair the vacant ground of Purnanand Stadium and use it for parking and remove encroachment from the roads by coordinating with the police. The District Magistrate took information about compliance of safety standards in the dhabas and hotels located on the Yatra route as well as food license and pasted rate list. He said that it should be ensured that action should be taken against the concerned hotel owners if any complaint of over-rating is received in the hotels located on the Yatra route.

Taxis will not go beyond Madhuban
After the inspection, the District Magistrate held a meeting of departmental officials and public representatives in the Palika Auditorium to ensure the safe completion of the Kanwar Yatra. Inspector-in-charge Pradeep Chauhan said that taxis will not go beyond Madhuban.
The DM asked to issue a helpline number along with ensuring the availability of health centers, ambulances and medical staff on the Kanwar route. Councilor Brijesh Giri demanded to increase the number of CCTV cameras in ward number four. Municipal Chairman Neelam Bijalwan, SSP Ayush Aggarwal, CO Narendranagar Surendra Singh Bhandari, Ganga Seva Samiti patron Chandraveer Pokhriyal, DSO Manoj Dobhal etc. were present in the meeting.
