Major political parties have also geared up for the three-tier Panchayat elections. Especially after releasing the list of supported candidates, BJP has started the exercise of appointing booth agents in Dehradun district. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi held an important meeting with the presidents of Sridev Suman Nagar Mandal, Shaheed Durga Mall Mandal and Mussoorie Mandal under Mussoorie Assembly constituency. The main objective of the meeting held on Thursday was to ensure the appointment of BLA (Booth Level Agent) in view of the upcoming elections and to strengthen the party organization up to the booth level.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Election Commission has been informing the political parties from time to time to appoint BLA and in compliance with this, it is necessary to strengthen the organization at the booth level. He said that a strong organization at the booth is the foundation of any electoral victory. Therefore, we have to ensure the presence of dedicated and loyal workers at every booth. The minister called upon the presidents of all three Mandals to select active, dedicated and loyal party workers as BLA. It was also decided in the meeting that every Mandal President will ensure the appointment of BLA at every booth in his area so that the party can implement the strategy in time.
