The government has suspended three engineers of the Public Works Department on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the case of damage to the under-construction bridge in Tharali of Chamoli district. Secretary Public Works Department Pankaj Kumar Pandey has issued orders regarding the suspension of Executive Engineer Tharali Dinesh Mohan Gupta, Executive Engineer Karnaprayag, Naveen Lal and Assistant Engineer Tharali, Akash Hudia. The 60 meter long valley bridge being built by PWD in Pranamati river to connect more than four thousand population of Ratgaon of development block Tharali was damaged last Wednesday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken the incident seriously and has given instructions to take action against the three engineers on this. Chief Minister Dhami has given clear instructions that the state should be made corruption free and accountability should be ensured in the administration. He said that no leniency would be shown in taking strict action against those involved in corruption as well as those who are negligent in their duties.
