The Auli-Jyotirmath motor road was blocked due to snowfall at km eight, which has been made operational for traffic. However, the Auli motor road remains slippery due to rain and snowfall. At the same time, snowfall is taking place in the higher Himalayas on the lines of winter.
Snow is an obstacle in the way of Adi Kailash Yatra
Due to the calm weather in winter and snowfall in the higher Himalayas till the last week of February, the preparations for conducting the Adi Kailash Yatra before time this year have been put on hold. Snowfall has occurred till the first week of May last year. According to the current situation, there is no possibility of snow being removed from the Adi Kailash route before 15 April. In such a situation, travel is not possible before this. The scheduled time for the journey is considered to be 15 May, but this time KMVN was preparing to organize the journey from April. Several feet of snow is accumulated at various places on the travel route. After its melting or removal from the route, the roads that will be damaged have to be repaired. Therefore, the journey is expected to start from the last week of May.
Snowfall till Khaliyatop and Bhujan
