In order to stop the continuous migration from the villages of the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, the government has started the exercise to develop new cities in the mountains. In this series, there is a plan to establish a new city in Bilwakedar (Srinagar) under Pauri district. According to Housing Minister Premchand Agarwal, in this regard, the Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Authority has been directed to complete the process of selection of consultant this month and prepare the master plan and model of the new city and ensure further action.
New cities will be developed in the mountains
Work is being done on the concept of new cities in the mountainous region through the Housing Department. For this, an amendment bill was passed in the Uttarakhand Town and Village Planning and Development Act in the budget session of the Assembly. In this episode, now the Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Authority has taken steps towards the establishment of new cities in the hills after a detailed study. Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that in view of the increasing population pressure in urban areas, it is necessary to take steps towards new cities in the mountainous areas. He said that after New Tehri, no other new city has been built in the state in a planned manner so far. He said that now the work of conceptualizing a new city has been started through the Housing Department. In this episode, the plan to establish a new city in Bilwakedar is being taken forward. He informed that instructions have been given to complete the process of land selection for the establishment of a new city in the mountainous region of Kumaon division as well.
