The government is now seriously moving forward towards making Uttarakhand a wedding destination. In this episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to mark new places for destination weddings in the state.
Along with this, he has also asked the Tourism Department to prepare a guideline for wedding destinations soon. He has also given instructions to strengthen road connectivity in Triyuginarayan, which has made its mark as a wedding destination, as well as to construct a helipad there. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting regarding destination wedding in the Secretariat on Monday. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also asked the countrymen to give priority to Uttarakhand for destination weddings. There are many such places here which can be developed for this. Along with marking these places, all the infrastructure facilities should be developed around them, so that traffic is easy here. He said that destination wedding will strengthen the economy of the state. The natural beauty and modern facilities of Uttarakhand will help in making it a major wedding destination.
Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Vice President Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Sachin Kurve, Additional Director General of Police V Murugeshan and Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey and IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop were present in the meeting.
Uttarakhand Religious and Pilgrimage Council to be formed soon
Uttarakhand Religious and Pilgrimage Council will be formed soon with a view to systematic management of other pilgrimages and fairs to be held in the state including Chardham. The Chief Minister also took information from the officials in the meeting held in this regard and directed to complete the related formalities quickly in view of the formation of the council. The council is to be formed under the Tourism Department. It will finalize its format and then its proposal will be placed in the cabinet.
New wedding destinations will be identified in the state
The Chief Minister directed that new places should be identified for destination weddings in the state and attention should be paid to their development. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also urged the countrymen to give priority to Uttarakhand for destination weddings.
