Many organizations including Mahila Manch and Rajya Aandolankari Manch have supported the committee. The committee says that the amendments made in the land laws should be canceled. Along with this, the details of the lands given in the name of investment should be made public. Committee convenor Mohit Dimri said that the Uttarakhand government is not serious about a strong land law. The government is talking about bringing a land law in the budget session, but what kind of land law the government will bring, the situation is not clear. He said that all the amendments made in the land laws after 2018 should be repealed through an ordinance.

More than 400 villages included in urban areas

Section-2 of the land law should be removed. Due to this section, agricultural land is being lost due to the inclusion of villages in urban areas. More than 400 villages have been included in the urban area and the way has been opened to destroy 50 thousand hectares of agricultural land. Also, before passing the land law bill in the assembly, its draft should be made public for public review. The details of the lands given in the name of investment and the employment generated from it should be made public. He said that criminal cases should be registered against those who have purchased more than 250 square meters of land. The committee said that the original residents should be identified.
