The public welfare schemes of the state government will reach the common people easily. Every family of the state will have this identity card. The Planning Department has formed a separate cell for the rapid implementation of this scheme and has signed a contract with a private company. Family Identity Card is an ambitious scheme of the state government. Family Identity Card has been an important agenda of the CM Conclave. This scheme will be implemented in Uttarakhand like Haryana. Under this scheme, a dynamic and live database of citizens and their families is being prepared to strengthen the welfare schemes and distribution system in the state.

Through the family identity card, the need for documentation and providing evidence will be reduced. Individuals will be able to avail the benefits of various government services through unique identification. The Finance Expenditure Committee has approved the budget for this scheme. The government has made budget arrangements for this ambitious scheme in the supplementary budget. The unique identification from the family identity card will serve as a proof of residential address. With this, caste certificates and residential certificates can be issued immediately. It is being considered important in view of transparency in the functioning of the government. The special thing is that all eligible and neglected persons including Divyangjan will be a part of the unique identity database. The government will be able to provide them appropriate assistance in the form of targeted services and benefits according to their need.
Haryana and Karnataka were at the forefront in adopting this scheme. In these states, it is necessary for the citizen to have this identity card to apply for any welfare service. It is being told that states like Bihar, Maharashtra, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh Goa, Manipur are also moving towards strengthening the delivery eco-system through this. Planning Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that like Haryana, this scheme will be implemented in Uttarakhand. This scheme has been further expanded in the state, so that it is not limited to getting the data of families, but the data of the schemes will be collected.
This will help in formulating new schemes. A portal has been created in this regard through NIC. Now a contract has been signed with a private company for the implementation of the scheme. A separate cell will be formed under the department to monitor the implementation of the scheme.
