Some relief is expected from heavy rains in Doon. However, the showers may continue for the next few days. There may be periods of intense rain amid the play of hide and seek between the sun and the clouds. However, there is a possibility of an increase in mercury due to bright sunshine in between. At present, the maximum temperature of Doon is four degrees Celsius above normal.
Monsoon rains continue
On Friday, after partial clouds in the morning in Doon, bright sunshine shone for some time. After this, the play of hide and seek between the sun and the clouds continued. However, at around 4:15 in the evening, heavy showers started falling in most areas of the city and it rained heavily for about half an hour. This brought some relief from the humidity felt throughout the day. On the other hand, the sequence of monsoon rains continues in other districts of Uttarakhand as well. However, now there is a possibility of getting some relief from heavy rains.
Yellow alert issued
According to the Meteorological Department, today most of the areas of the state are expected to be partly cloudy to light sunshine. A yellow alert has been issued regarding the possibility of heavy showers with thunderstorms in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Nainital and Champawat. Whereas, in other districts including Dehradun, there may be one to two rounds of light showers along with partly cloudy weather.
