After snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, cold winds increased shivering across the state. At the same time, dense fog is increasing the difficulties in the plains. People in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and other plain areas are yearning for sunshine in the morning. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in most areas of the state from Monday January 1. There may be dense fog in the plains for the next few days. Due to which there is a possibility of increase in the severity of winter and fall in mercury. Orange alert has been issued regarding dense fog.
Snowfall increased the chill
The snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand on Saturday has increased the chill from the mountains to the plains. The cold winds blowing throughout the day are giving shivers. However, the weather in the plains has remained dry and dense fog is adding to the difficulties. Life is affected due to fog in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar. Especially Laksar, Roorkee, Pantnagar and Khatima are most affected by fog.
Orange alert regarding dense fog
According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, there is an orange alert regarding very dense fog in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar, whereas, a yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in some other plain areas. Due to this, there is a possibility of drop in temperature also. Due to dense fog, visibility is expected to be six to four meters. Due to fog, not only the trains coming to Doon are affected, air services are also being affected.
