In the midst of preparations for BJP’s Mission-2024, the buzz of reshuffle is being felt in the Dhami cabinet. If performance becomes the basis for the expansion and reshuffle of the cabinet, then some ministers may be discharged. It is discussed that the BJP high command has asked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the report card of his ministers.
A meeting with the central leadership is proposed after the party’s mass public relations campaign which will continue till June 30, in which the possibility of discussion on this subject is being expressed. After this there can be cabinet expansion and reshuffle.
Many posts are vacant in Dhami cabinet:
When the Dhami cabinet was sworn in last year, three ministerial posts were kept vacant. It was said that these too would be filled soon, but this did not happen. Meanwhile, the number of vacancies in the cabinet increased to four due to the death of cabinet minister Chandan Ram Das. Anyway, due to being a small state, the size of the cabinet here is 12 members including the Chief Minister, but one-third of the ministerial posts are running vacant. In such a situation, it is natural to have an impact on the functioning of the departments.
The target is to make Uttarakhand the best state by 2025:
Not only this, the government has set a target of making Uttarakhand the best state by the year 2025. In this situation, the performance of the ministers becomes important, who have to run the machinery accordingly. Due to the number of ministers being only seven at present, they have the responsibility of many departments. In such a situation, there is a challenge in front of them to achieve the set goals by giving speed to the departments.
In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the discussion intensified:
Apart from this, the challenge of making a hat-trick on all the five seats of the state in the next year’s Lok Sabha elections is also in front of the BJP organization and the government. In view of all these circumstances, the discussion about expansion and reshuffle of the Dhami cabinet has intensified. In recent days, the meeting of the Chief Minister with the central leaders is being linked to this. It is believed that the party high command has summoned the report cards of all the ministers from the Chief Minister.
Big change could happen
Chief Minister Dhami also indicated that after the great public relations campaign, discussions will be held on all subjects with the central leadership. It is believed that on examining the functioning of the ministers, two-three ministers may fall, while some new faces may join the cabinet. Although, the challenges before the party will not be less regarding the reshuffle. In this, all the equations including regional, caste will have to be practiced.
Haridwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Nainital districts are not represented in the present cabinet. Not only this, the political scenario of the state so far shows that it has been challenging for every Chief Minister to remove those who have access to the high command.
